I stopped for lunch at a small family-run restaurant overlooking the Tam Coc river. The food was simple — grilled fish, rice, and vegetables fresh from the garden — but it tasted like a feast. Boats drifted past as I ate, and I could see the reflections of the cliffs in the water. A gentle breeze carried the scent of lotus and earth. There was no rush, no noise, just calm conversation and the sound of paddles dipping into the river. Sometimes the best meals are the ones that make you slow down and really see where you are.
