Looking for a place on the weekend that doesn’t require much planning, no early wake-up, and no crowds? Then head to Yangzhou.
Nothing major happened on this trip, but every moment was so comfortable it brought tears to my eyes~
🚗 Before we start:
09:00 Depart from Nanjing → 18:00 Back home
A day full of eating and strolling, about 4 hours driving time
📍 Notes:
❌ Not suitable for "special forces" checkpoint chasers
✅ Perfect for the "lazy squad" who just want to relax
🍵 10:00 Garden Teahouse
📍 Address: East Jiefang Bridge Road, Guangling District, Yangzhou
💰 Per person: 60 RMB
✨ Must-order menu:
- Crab Roe Soup Dumplings (bursting with juice in one bite‼️)
- Jade Siu Mai (filled with shepherd’s purse, super refreshing)
- Hot Shredded Tofu (a representative Huaiyang dish!)
You can sit here for a long time with a pot of tea and experience the authentic "Yangzhou slow" lifestyle~
🌿 11:30 Luyang Lake Wetland Park
📍 Address: Xiannv Town, Jiangdu District, Yangzhou
💰 Ticket: 10 RMB | Boat rental 50 RMB/boat
Few people and beautiful scenery here! 🌿 The water forest is absolutely stunning!
Rowing a small boat among the dawn redwood forest feels like stepping into the Land of Oz~
Every snap is a forest-themed masterpiece📸
🏡 13:00 Jiangdu Puyuan Garden
📍 Address: Xiannv Town, Jiangdu District, Yangzhou
A free hidden gem garden💎
Uncles and aunties play cards by the lake in the garden
We just sat in the pavilion daydreaming and watching the clouds☁️
Caught some beautiful shots of traditional Chinese architecture on the go~
🍽️ 15:30 Dachao Huai
📍 Address: Wangyue Road, Hanjiang District, Yangzhou
💰 Per person: 65 RMB
Must-try dishes:
- Yangzhou Fried Rice (each grain distinct and super authentic)
- Crab Meat Lion’s Head Meatballs (so fresh it’ll blow your mind!)
Not light-flavored, but every dish is just right💯
🌇 17:00 Return trip
Driving on the highway in the sunset is so romantic~
Didn’t do much this day, but it was truly healing✨
💌 Final thoughts
🚗 Total driving: 4 hours
🕘 Timeline: Completely unhurried
💰 Total cost: 200 RMB/person
🧸 Suitable for: Overworked office workers wanting to zone out / lazy people who don’t want to plan
💡 Tips:
1. Luyang Lake is best visited on sunny days for beautiful light and shadow
2. Puyuan Garden is still under development, facilities are simple
3. Dachao Huai is recommended off-peak, expect queues during meal times
