Seonbi Village in Yeongju: A Place Worth Visiting

Seonbi Village is a traditional cultural village that authentically recreates the lives, studies, and spirit of Joseon-era scholars. The village features over 30 traditional houses that replicate the homes of noble families from the Joseon Dynasty.

Notable sites include Kim Dae-hyeon’s House, the Kimhae Kim Clan’s Head House, Cheongamjeong Pavilion, Isanseodang School, Ilsimjae, and Unhyeondang.

Each house has unique structures such as the daecheongmaru (main hall), sarangchae (men’s quarters), and anchae (inner quarters), showcasing that these homes were not merely living spaces but also reflections of the scholars’ character and philosophy.
