SONO Calm Yeosu: A Five-Star Stay for Business and Leisure with Breathtaking Views

#summervacay
My experience at SONO Calm Yeosu, which I had the chance to stay at two years ago for a conference business trip, left a lasting impression. Priced from around ₩180,000 per night depending on weekdays or weekends, it certainly offers a premium experience that justifies the cost, especially considering its current standing as a highly-rated, often 5-star, establishment.
Located at 111, Odongdo-ro, right in the heart of the Yeosu World Expo complex and with direct views of Odongdo Island, the hotel boasts an unbeatable location. For a business traveler like myself, this was incredibly convenient. Its proximity to the Expo area, major attractions like Aqua Planet Yeosu and Jasan Park, and excellent connectivity meant less time commuting and more time focused on the conference or enjoying the city's offerings.
Even after two years, the hotel's commitment to quality and comfort seems to hold strong. My memories of the room are of a spacious, modern, and impeccably clean environment. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the stunning sea view through floor-to-ceiling windows. Waking up to the serene emerald waters of the South Sea and the picturesque archipelago was a truly rejuvenating experience, a welcome escape from the usual confines of a business trip hotel room. Many recent reviews continue to praise these spectacular ocean views, with recommendations for high-floor or corner rooms.
For conference attendees, SONO Calm Yeosu truly excels. It offers a sophisticated convention center with multiple meeting rooms (at least seven are noted in recent information, including ballrooms), equipped for various business gatherings. The presence of a 24-hour business center and multilingual staff (though some recent reviews mention occasional language barriers, a minor point to consider) adds to its appeal as a corporate venue. The availability of amenities like a fitness center and sauna (some services may incur a surcharge) also provides valuable options for unwinding after a long day of meetings.
Dining at the hotel, even from my past experience, was a notable aspect. The Chef's Kitchen for breakfast buffet and Mare E Cielo for fusion Asian or Western cuisine offer diverse options. Recent reviews continue to highlight the quality of the food and the pleasant dining atmospheres, with some guests specifically recommending the breakfast buffet.
While the hotel maintains its luxurious appeal, some recent guest feedback suggests that while the rooms are generally spacious and clean, some areas of the interior might feel slightly "dated" compared to brand-new constructions. However, this seems to be a minor point amidst overwhelming positive comments on its fantastic location, comfortable beds, excellent views, and friendly service.
