During my trip to Yixian, I stayed at the super popular local B&B "Huangshan Shudetang • The Garden of Forking Paths in Yixian" and was completely captivated by its poetic aesthetics! Those who want to experience the perfect blend of Huizhou architecture and modern art, come take a look~
🌈 Location & Transportation
• Located in Biyang Town, Yixian, very close to attractions like Xidi and Hongcun (15-minute drive)
• Best for self-driving, with parking available on-site
• Take a taxi from Huangshan North Station (about 1 hour by high-speed rail)
🎨 Stunning Design Highlights
1. Renovated from an old house, retaining the complete horse-head walls and carved wooden gateways
2. The central courtyard's water garden is magical! Perfect for Hanfu photoshoots
3. Wooden ceilings + floor-to-ceiling windows in the rooms—stargaze right from your bed
🏡 Stay Experience
• Butler service is super thoughtful, always ready to help with luggage
• Each room comes with tea sets and local tea leaves
• Breakfast is abundant—coffee lovers must try the latte with latte art; dinner is excellent too, especially the local specialty stinky mandarin fish.
📸 Must-Take Photo Spots
1. Under the crooked tree (best shot in the early morning with mist)
2. The winding paths with endless rural views (bicycles are provided by the B&B)
🍵 Nearby Activities
• A 3-minute drive to Tao Yuanming's former residence, Shouzhuo Garden
• During summer vacation, the B&B hosts intangible cultural heritage Huizhou ink pastry-making every Saturday night (check with the butler for details)
• Nearby tea plantations offer tea-picking and tea-frying experiences (best in April-May)
💡 Practical Tips
• Book your room in advance! Popular room types sell out quickly
• Visit in October to catch the autumn harvest scenery
• Must-try: the B&B's homemade stinky mandarin fish and hairy tofu
