Yichun, Jiangxi, a seriously underrated treasure of a leisure town

Two days and one night itinerary in Yichun, Jiangxi, route plan: Mingyue Mountain—Thousand Ancient Love—Hot Springs—Yangshan Zen Temple—Nanre Ancient Village—Wentang Ancient Town 🚶🏻‍♂️🚶🏻‍♀️

⛰️ Compared to Lushan, Mingyue Mountain is smaller with concentrated attractions, easy to explore in half a day. Compared to Wugong Mountain, no need to hike, cable car goes straight up, and there are hot springs at the foot of the mountain ♨️ Hike painlessly during the day, enjoy authentic Jiangxi cuisine at night, and soak in the hot springs after dinner—this is a fully relaxing type of travel.

Day 1️⃣
Mingyue Mountain: Two ways to get up the mountain, cable car and hiking 🚡 Hiking takes about 3 hours, cable car is recommended. To see the waterfall, get off at the cable car’s middle station. Main attractions on the mountain: Qingyun Plank Road, Moon Lake, Tent Camp.

Take the cable car to the top, then a sightseeing bus to Qingyun Plank Road. The plank road circles the mountain, mostly flat paths, the middle section offers the best views, looping around to Moon Lake. You can take a small train 🚞 to the Yangsimu Tent Camp, which also offers accommodation.

Thousand Ancient Love: immersive live performance, show from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Hot Springs: the world’s only natural selenium-rich hot spring that is drinkable and suitable for bathing ♨️

Day 2️⃣
Yangshan Zen Temple: surrounded by mountains on all sides, with two thousand-year-old ginkgo trees inside, perfect for peaceful rest and meditation 🌲
Nanre Ancient Village: a lesser-known spot, embraced by thousand-year-old ginkgo trees, mountain breeze and creek flow through the village, rustic and tranquil, five stars for family trips ☁️
Wentang Ancient Town: visit the hot spring ancient well with over 800 years of history, experience the culture of soaking feet in hot spring water ♨️

🚄 Transportation: High-speed rail to Yichun Station, taxi to Mingyue Mountain about 70 RMB; 🚌 Bus 118 to Mingyue Mountain Station. The second day’s itinerary is suitable for self-driving 🚘 Taxi about 50 RMB

🎫 Tickets: Buy online in advance for 90 RMB, 95 RMB on site per person. Cable car up 80 RMB, down 70 RMB, sightseeing bus on the mountain 30 RMB per person

🌶️ Food: Mingyue Family Feast, Kelaixiang, Ganxi Mingzao, and Mingyue Lake Restaurant on the mountain.
