Weekend Disconnect Moment | Beautiful Hotels Around Shanghai|||The overall design inspiration for The Unbound Collection by Hyatt Yixing comes from "Travelers Among Mountains and Streams" by Fan Kuan, a painter from the Northern Song Dynasty, aiming to transform the "walkable and livable landscape" artistic conception from the painting into a real spatial experience. The overall architectural layout revolves around creating an ideal Jiangnan mountain living experience. Six main buildings are scattered across the undulating terrain, connected by winding corridors that offer a new view with every step. The smooth flow of movement throughout the hotel makes one feel as if strolling through a classical garden.

There are large outdoor water features flowing through the restaurant, reception hall, and bar, as well as dry landscape gardens in the guest room areas. The most striking feature, of course, is the garden landscape in the reception lobby on the first basement floor, which places an entire modern architectural volume within a Chinese aesthetic landscape miniature. Rationally, you can perceive that the building has many levels, but the clever design makes you subjectively feel as if you are walking on a "flat surface" surrounded by mountains and water. The spatial flow is either above or below the water level, and visually, it is either obstructed or opened up by walls of various materials. Even the guest rooms feel like a small world independent of the outside. It truly is one of the best choices for design-savvy individuals to disconnect from the world.

For a while, I was also on the path of chasing natural scenery, but recently, I've been keen on finding these man-made in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. The beauty of natural landscapes is a wild, unrestrained growth, while man-made landscapes have a touch more restraint. This restraint, paradoxically, allows one to savor many delights within its bounds. Reflecting on oneself through the scenery, the perfectly balanced beauty is like a satisfying meal that leaves only a fresh aroma in your mouth, without the discomfort of overeating.

I really like Hyatt hotels, primarily because their dining is superb, and the prices are not too high. The Yixing cuisine at this Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Yixing is excellent; I didn't even want to go out to find food during my stay. It was a wonderful vacation, and I look forward to my next trip.
