Before visiting, I only knew that Yokohama was close to Tokyo, easy to travel to, and had landmarks like the Landmark Tower and Cosmo Clock 21. But once I arrived, I realized, "There's so much more than I expected."
🏙 Convenient Location Near Tokyo
Just a 25-minute train ride from Tokyo brings you to Yokohama Station. But standing by the harbor, surrounded by sailboats, the atmosphere feels calm and serene—nothing like the bustling big city.
🌇 Minato Mirai & Cosmo Clock 21
I reached the Landmark Tower before sunset and went up to the 69th floor for a panoramic view of the city and bay. Later in the afternoon, I took a ride on the Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris wheel, where the river's shimmering reflections created a stunning scene.
🍜 Savoring Chinatown
Next stop was Chinatown, which I found to be massive—far surpassing Kobe's Chinatown. The streets were lined with dim sum and fried food stalls, and in the middle of the alley stood a colorful Chinese temple, surrounded by the enticing aroma of food.
🌿 Sankeien Garden – Embracing Nature
In the afternoon, I visited Sankeien Garden, a peaceful retreat with ponds and traditional architecture. It felt like stepping back into Japan's elegant past.
🍜 Fun at the Cup Noodles Museum
🌉 Evening Glow at Red Brick & Osanbashi Pier
As evening fell, I strolled to Osanbashi Pier, with its curved wooden paths offering views of the bay and the Minato Mirai skyline reflecting the light. Then, I arrived at the Red Brick Warehouse, filled with charming shops and warm-toned lights, creating a subtly romantic vibe.
