Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel Standard Single Room

Hotels in Yokohama are generally divided into three main areas: the Minato Mirai area, the vicinity of Yokohama Station, and Shin-Yokohama Station, where the Shinkansen stops.

Looking for a convenient place to stay for catching the domestic flight to Noto at 8 AM the next day from Haneda, I considered options with direct limousine bus service, breakfast starting around 6:30 AM, and easy access from Shinjuku on the day of my stay.

From Haneda's Terminal 3 (International), Terminal 2 (ANA), and Terminal 1 (JAL), there are direct limousine buses to Shin-Yokohama Station, and occasionally to the hotel itself. The travel time is approximately 40–50 minutes.

The Prince Hotel chain, part of the Seibu Group, is a Japanese brand I personally favor, having stayed at nearly ten of their locations. I booked a City View Single Room on the lowest floor available, the 9th floor.

Upon check-in, the staff upgraded me to the 17th floor, the highest among the standard rooms, with an Ocean View facing Minato Mirai. Lucky 🙏 Perhaps it was because I mentioned I had reserved the hotel's afternoon tea?^^

Feeling delighted with the upgrade, I took some photos in the room, relaxed, enjoyed the afternoon tea, and then headed out for my Tokyo itinerary. Around 11 PM, I returned to the hotel via the Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line.

Previously, I had to return to Yokohama and then come back, and I even once took the Shinkansen from Tokyo Station while slightly tipsy.🤣 Now, with the direct Tokyu Line service from Shibuya, it’s a one-shot trip.👍

Direct services are indeed convenient, but if you’re traveling with a pass, be mindful of potential additional transportation costs. After a day that included stops at Incheon Airport and Gimpo Airport, I fell asleep early.

The next morning, I joined the first breakfast session to catch the 7:15 AM limousine bus. I went down around 6:20 AM and lined up. Diligent Japanese guests were already there, about 10 minutes ahead of me.

Breakfast started slightly early at 6:27 AM. True to the Prince Hotel’s reputation, they served steak even in the morning. The omelet was excellent as well. I spent about 10 minutes preparing and 20 minutes eating.

By 7 AM, I finished breakfast, checked out, and headed to the bus stop at Shin-Yokohama Station. It’s less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Thank you for the pleasant stay.
