[Enjoy the Chinese New Year in Yokohama Chinatown! Experience a visit to Mazu Temple, Chinese New Year events, and a dinner at Chungking Restaurant]

During the Lunar New Year (Spring New Year), Yokohama Chinatown is like a "lucky bag of happiness." We'll share a day filled with discoveries at the historic Mazu Temple, Chinese New Year-themed events, and a Sichuan dinner at the Rose Hotel's Chungking Restaurant.

Explore History and Tradition at Yokohama Mazu Temple

At Yokohama Mazu Temple (Yokohama Daitenko Temple), precious bricks, glass bottles, and ceramic fragments dating back to before the Great Kanto Earthquake were unearthed at a former construction site. These were reused in the foundations of the bell tower and drum tower, making this a special place where you can experience history just by walking around.
After praying, try your luck with a Chinese fortune-telling slip. The thrill of finding out the results is irresistible.

The entire city is bustling with excitement during Chinese New Year events.

During the 2025 Chinese New Year (January 29th - February 12th), the entire Chinatown area will be beautifully illuminated with dragons and lanterns.
For the January 28th countdown, lion and dragon dances will be performed at Yamashitacho Park, celebrating the start of the new year in style.
In addition, the surprise "Street Entertainment Performance" on February 8th and 9th, and the "Celebration Dance Parade" on February 11th are must-see programs where you can enjoy gorgeous costumes and traditional dance right before your eyes.

A Dinner Full of Traditional Beauty: Chongqing Restaurant New Wing (Rose Hotel Yokohama)

In the evening, move to the Rose Hotel Yokohama for authentic Sichuan cuisine at Chongqing Restaurant New Wing. The restaurant's "food is medicine" style, featuring spices and Japanese pepper, satisfies both body and mind with flavors that satisfy both body and mind.
In a quiet private room, you can enjoy a course menu featuring luxurious ingredients such as shark fin soup, mapo tofu, and large chili shrimp (all-you-can-drink included, priced from 10,500 to 16,500 yen, tax included).
