If you’re seeking a peaceful and refined dining experience away from the city buzz, this one’s for you. Kuemon-tei is a hidden French restaurant tucked inside a renovated old Japanese house in Higashi-Totsuka. It’s known among locals for its elegant course meals served in a tranquil atmosphere.

The poêlé of grunt fish and green pea potage were especially memorable—refined, flavorful, and beautifully plated. After the meal, we visited the charming café on the same grounds. The homemade ginger ale had a nice spicy kick, perfect to wrap up a lovely afternoon.
