
Yaoniuping is located at the northern end of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area in Lijiang. It is an important part of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area. It starts from Liming Highway in the east, borders the Heishui River in the south, is backed by the eastern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the west, and reaches the upper part of Xuehua Village in the north. It covers an area of 16.6 square kilometers. Yi and Tibetan villages live in the scenic area.
The villagers rely on animal husbandry for their livelihood, and their customs are ancient and rich in ethnic culture. Yaoniuping is a typical meadow pasture, with alpine snowfields, the flowing Blackwater River, and the tranquil, ancient primeval forests forming a vibrant, layered landscape. The Yaoniuping meadows are ablaze with flowers in spring, carpeted with lush green grass in summer, lush in autumn, and blanketed in snow in winter. The picturesque scenery year-round makes it an unparalleled destination for sightseeing, leisure, and vacations.
