🌲 Legend of the century-old Nanmu tree: Have you heard the legend of this divine tree? It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, a scholar on his way to the capital to take an exam took shelter under this tree during a rainstorm and was struck by lightning. The Nanmu tree was split instantly, but the scholar was unharmed. He believed it was a sign from heaven, so he bowed three times and kowtowed nine times to the tree before braving the rain to continue to the capital. As expected, he passed the examination with high honors, and when he returned to his hometown, he made a special trip to pay his respects to the divine tree in gratitude. Today, this Nanmu tree still stands in the village, witnessing the passage of time.
