♨️ Seikoen Hot Springs: Public Bath & Family Bath Experience
A trip to Yufuin wouldn’t be complete without enjoying the hot springs. The Seikoen Ryokan (清孔苑) we stayed at truly lived up to its reputation as a "hot spring gem." Known for its 100% natural hot springs and the famous "silky smooth spring quality" (トロトロ泉質), which leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated, we were filled with anticipation the moment we checked in.

The hot springs at Seikoen are more than just a place to soak; they offer a healing experience that connects you with nature. From the open-air bath in the public bathhouse, where you can enjoy a serene view of Mount Yufu, to the private family baths perfect for intimate moments, every aspect was delightful. The quality of the spring water was exceptional, leaving our skin smooth and our bodies refreshed for hours. If you’re looking to fully enjoy Yufuin’s hot springs, Seikoen is a place I wholeheartedly recommend.

🍱 Dinner – Luxurious Kaiseki Course
Dinner began at 6:00 PM with an impressive kaiseki (会席料理) course. Receiving a beautifully arranged menu at each table and savoring each dish as it was served truly encapsulated the charm of staying at a ryokan.

Appetizers: Seasonal vegetable salad and small appetizer plates
Sashimi: Fresh sea bream and shrimp
Steamed Dish: Tender chicken in a salad-style presentation
Grilled Dish: Yufuin Wagyu beef, which melted in our mouths! 🥩
Main Course: Fragrant rice, miso soup, and simple Japanese side dishes
Dessert: Sweet pumpkin mousse

🍳 Breakfast – Simple Japanese Set Meal
The next morning at 8:30 AM, breakfast was served at our chosen time. While dinner was extravagant, breakfast was a light and refreshing way to start the day.

White rice & miso soup 🍚
Tamagoyaki (rolled omelet) & sausage
Grilled fish (mackerel or salmon) 🐟
Tofu dish & pickled side dishes 🥒
Salad, fruit, and yogurt

🛍️ Tip – Daiso Shopping Beforehand
Before heading to Yufuin, make sure to stop by Daiso in the Aeon Mall! You can pick up small pouches for the hot springs, refillable cosmetic containers, and even gift-wrapping supplies at affordable prices. Highly recommended!

🌸 Overall Impression
Our 1-night, 2-day stay at Seikoen was the epitome of a "classic Japanese ryokan experience." From the friendly Korean-speaking staff and convenient pick-up service to the yukata experience, healing hot springs, kaiseki dinner, and light breakfast, everything was perfect. If you have a day to spare while in Fukuoka, I highly recommend staying at Yufuin Seikoen. It will make your trip even more special. ✨
