Kinrin Lake | Yufuin | Oita | Japan

🌊 Kinrin Lake, a beautiful warm lake in Yufuin, Oita Prefecture, is surrounded by mountain scenery, small villages, and shrines. It's breathtaking in every season, and it's sure to captivate even the most laid-back traveler.

☀️ The evening sun shines on this lake, creating a shimmering golden glow, giving it its name, "Kinrin Lake," which translates to "golden fish scales."

🌫️ The uniqueness of Kinrin Lake doesn't end there. You'll notice a light mist covering its surface, created by the warm water, around 30 degrees Celsius, flowing from the hot springs and mixing with the cold water. With the Yufu Mountains as a backdrop, it's truly stunning. Nature lovers will love this! You have to visit this place!

🚂 Traveling from Hakata Station (Fukuoka) by taking the popular JR Yufuin No Mori tourist line, but we didn't take this train because the first train departs from 9:17 AM to 11:31 AM. I was worried I wouldn't make it to Beppu in time, so I took the JR Yufu 1 (first train) from 7:43 AM to 10:03 AM. (Regular JR tickets can be used with the JR Northern Kyushu Pass.) This is very convenient! 😊

JR Northern Kyushu Pass 3 days: 11,000 yen (purchased from the JR website)
JR Northern Kyushu Pass 3 days: 12,000 yen (purchased from various agents in Thailand)
