Lashihai Lake Birdwatching in Lijiang

Trips to Lijiang usually focus on the Ancient City, making the Lashihai Wetlands a less popular choice in winter and spring. However, if you have time and prefer independent travel, Lashihai offers a relaxing alternative. It's best suited for self-drive trips, unlike the easily accessible Ancient City.
Parking is readily available at Lashihai, and there are places to eat. When the water levels are high, larger wading birds might be harder to spot. You'll mainly see small and medium-sized waterfowl, such as bar-headed geese.
On clear days, you can enjoy stunning sunset views of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the Lijiang high-speed railway station, the museum, and other locations.
