หุบเขาพระจันทร์สีน้ำเงิน (Blue Moon Valley)

🇨🇳 Blue Moon Valley

Also known in China as "Baishuihe," this valley is located to the east of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, Yunnan Province. It lies at an elevation of 4,000 meters above sea level. We often stop here after admiring the beauty of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. You can either walk down to the mountain and enjoy the view yourself or take a battery-powered vehicle for 60 yuan per person.

The water in Baisuihe Lake is formed by melted snow from the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which flows down through waterways and collects in the white limestone layers. It contains a high amount of copper sulfate (CuSO4), giving the water a crystal-clear turquoise hue. (The lake's water is not drinkable!) From a distance, it resembles the moon amidst the valley, hence the name. "Blue Moon Valley"
