No need to go to Guizhou, you can see stunning terraced fields right in Zhejiang. In summer, they are lush green rice paddies, turning golden in autumn, with different beauty in every season.
Sharing my two-day, one-night itinerary:
Day 1️⃣: Visitor Center - Baiyin Valley Qixing Dun - Cloud Cafe & Cloud Swing - Wujian Waterfall - Kenggen Stone Village
Day 2️⃣: Jiuqu Yunhuan Viewing Platform - Hesheng Yunjian - Terraced Field Commune - Daoshengyi Coffee
❤️ Must-visit spots:
1⃣ Jiuqu Yunhuan: The sea of clouds over the terraced fields is breathtaking.
Recommend wearing a light-colored dress for photos.
Be sure to get up early to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds!
Here you can see the full view of the terraced fields. It’s best to start at 4 AM, the sunrise spot is perfect. When the first ray of sunlight shines on the terraces, the whole valley glows—stunning beyond words!
Remember to bring a tripod; time-lapse photography is amazing here.
Even if you miss the sunrise, the beautiful sea of clouds is still visible!!
After sightseeing, you can rest at Daoshengyi Coffee Bar.
2⃣ Kenggen Stone Village
A well-preserved ancient village with bluestone paths, rammed earth walls, and old teahouses.
Time slows down here.
3⃣ Baiyin Valley
Take the Guankun Cableway to Qixing Dun,
Cloud Cafe and Cloud Swing are must-visits.
Walk down to Wujian Waterfall and Kenggen Stone Village,
which retain the rustic residential style and have old teahouses to experience.
🏨 Accommodation recommendation:
If you want to see the sunrise, stay inside the scenic area.
I stayed at the Straw Encounter Jigsaw Hotel,
which offers shuttle buses to watch the sunrise on summer weekends.
About transportation 🚗:
1. 4-hour self-drive from Hangzhou
2. Take the high-speed train to Lishui Station,
then take the scenic area shuttle bus (tickets available for Baba Express Bus)
Some tips:
1. Best viewing times: sunrise and sunset
2. Wear comfortable shoes, there’s a lot of walking in the terraced fields
3. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent
4. The terraced fields are even more beautiful on rainy days, and you can see the sea of clouds!
🍃 Compared to crowded popular spots,
this place is so quiet you can hear the wind blowing through the rice waves.
Bring a book, brew some tea, watch the clouds roll by—
this is what a vacation should be like.
A treasure travel destination worth visiting again and again
