Took the kids to Sanqing Mountain, and the experience was way better than expected! Here’s a super detailed guide for moms taking their kids—bookmark it now~🥳
🏨 Highly Recommended Accommodation: Near Waishuangxi Cableway (such as Hilton, Cuiwei Hotel)
Staying here is really convenient. Whether going to the cableway or returning, everything is super smooth. The whole trip with kids is seamless, no detours needed!
🚌 Transportation + Route: Take Gangshou Cableway up, Waishuangxi Cableway down
At 8:40 AM, take the free shuttle from the Hilton hotel entrance to the Jinsha Cableway Visitor Service Area, then transfer to another free shuttle to reach the Gangshou Cableway entrance. No queues at all! When we went, the Jinsha Cableway was still calling numbers and queuing, but by 10:00 AM we were already on the cableway to the summit, saving tons of waiting time with kids~
🚶♀️ Kid-Friendly Route:
After getting off the cableway, turn right and follow the signs for the “Path to the Clouds.” This path is very gentle and knee-friendly, so kids can walk on their own easily~ Along the way, you can check in at many spots: the quaint Sanqing Palace, the distinctive Dragon and Tiger Hall, the cute Lover’s Stone, the stunning Sunshine Coast viewpoint, the spectacular Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain, the ethereal Goddess Peak, and the fun Immortal’s Finger Guide. Note that the West Coast area is temporarily closed~
We didn’t queue at all the whole time and took the Waishuangxi Cableway down at 2:30 PM. Walking to the hotel parking lot from there, we could drive straight home. The whole day with kids was relaxed and unhurried, with a super comfortable pace~
💡 Super Practical Tips:
The Jinsha Service Area is amazing! It’s fully equipped, with many hotel and guesthouse options, affordable prices, and even a KFC that accepts Dashen Card! Buying food for kids during transfers is super convenient. On weekdays, choosing Jinsha Cableway for both up and down is definitely the best choice!
There are few visitor service points on the mountain, so be sure to bring enough snacks and drinking water. For kids, you can prepare self-heating hot pot or self-heating rice to quickly replenish energy when hungry~
The weather on the mountain changes fast with big temperature differences. Prepare sun protection (hats, sunscreen) and warm clothes (light jackets) for the kids to avoid sunburn or catching a cold~
Taking kids to Sanqing Mountain is truly an amazing experience. The route is smooth, no queues, and it lets kids get close to nature and enjoy beautiful scenery. Moms, don’t hesitate—take your kids and go for it!
