Just got back from Sanqing Mountain and happened to catch the sea of clouds in the rain, it was absolutely stunning 😭
Su Shi’s saying “Enjoying the best views across the Five Great Mountains, the ultimate scenery is at Sanqing” is indeed true—here you’ll find strange peaks and rocks, a sea of clouds plank road, and ancient Taoist temples…
Especially from May to June, the rhododendrons bloom all over the mountains, and amid the rolling sea of clouds, the “Goddess of the East” view appears and disappears like a mirage. Every casual photo looks like a cover of a fantasy drama❗️
This super detailed hiking guide is recommended to save and read slowly 👇
📍Address: Sanqing Mountain, Jiangxi
🚄Transport: Take the high-speed train to [Shangrao Station], then directly take the tourist shuttle bus, it takes 1.5 hours to reach the cableway entrance
🚗Self-driving: Navigate directly to “Sanqing Mountain Jinsha Parking Lot” or “Sanqing Mountain Waishuangxi Parking Lot”
🏞️Three highly recommended beautiful routes at Sanqing Mountain 👇
1⃣️ Small Loop (takes 2.5 hours, difficulty ⭐️⭐️, suitable for beginners)
Take Jinsha Cableway up → Check in at Giant Python Emerging → View the Goddess of the East → Stroll along the Goddess Plank Road → Return by the same route
2⃣️ Medium Loop (takes 4.5 hours, difficulty ⭐️⭐️⭐️, rich experience)

May Day New Route Preview 👇
Gangshou Cableway 🚠 is expected to open on May 1st! This cable car will take you directly to the Sanqing Palace scenic area, so no more detours on the large loop to get there 👏🏻
🏡 Accommodation Suggestions
✅ If you want to stay overnight on the mountain, you can stay at Rishang Mountain Villa—this is an excellent spot to watch the sunrise, about a 40-minute walk from the villa to the sunrise viewing point. Tents ⛺️ are also available for rent for camping.
✅ Jinsha Bay Holiday Hotel at the foot of the mountain offers great value, close to the cableway, and there are many snack shops nearby for convenient dining.
👏 Sanqing Mountain Travel Tips:
✅ Sunscreen, windbreaker, and trekking poles are essential! There are many steps to climb, so light packing is recommended; the wind is strong at the summit, and the sun can be intense on clear days, so be sure to protect yourself.
✅ Safety first! The plank roads can be slippery when wet, so be careful of your surroundings when stepping back after taking photos to avoid accidents.
✅ Cableway operating hours are 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Keep track of time when hiking to avoid missing the last cable car down.
✅ Sanqing Mountain has two cableway points: Jinsha Cableway and Waishuangxi Cableway. Jinsha Cableway is easier for going up and offers beautiful scenery along the way; if you want to avoid crowds, choose Waishuangxi Cableway.
✅ Sanqing Palace looks like a fairy pavilion floating in the clouds. During the morning bell and evening drum, you can learn “fantasy etiquette” from Taoist priests, instantly feeling like you’ve traveled into a cultivation world~
