Echigo Yuzawa Onsen Ipponsenri Onsen Inn Nakaya. We visited this long-established inn with a 400-year tradition, located on high ground with a panoramic view of the town of Yuzawa and the Tanigawa mountain range, and with a superb view.
We visited in the winter, and the snowy scenery from the open-air observation bath was spectacular.
The highly alkaline water is gentle and smooth on the skin, leaving it incredibly smooth and warming the body from the core. The plan included an overnight stay with breakfast, and we had rice balls made from Minamiuonuma Koshihikari rice for dinner. The view from the room was also great. It's an hour and 20 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo.
