
The construction of Shende Temple Ruins Park was a major urban cultural construction project in Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province in 2013, which combined cultural relics protection with Buddhist cultural heritage.
The Shende Temple Pagoda is located at the site of the Shende Temple at Bushouyuan in the north of Yaozhou City. It was announced as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in Shaanxi Province by the Shaanxi Provincial Government on August 6, 1956, and was announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit in 2006. It is the oldest physical building in Yaozhou City.
According to historical records, Shende Temple was an important temple for enshrining relics during the Sui Dynasty. Despite several changes, the Shende Temple Pagoda has stood on this site since the Tang Dynasty. The Shende Temple Ruins Park project stretches from Shiyao Road in the west to National Highway 210 in the east, Tapo Road in the south, and the Meteorological Bureau in the north. It is approximately 503 meters long from east to west and 370 meters wide from north to south.
The subtropical monsoon climate makes it suitable for travel in all four seasons.
The construction purpose of Shende Temple Ruins Park is to combine the construction of Shende Temple Ruins Park project with cultural relics protection and Buddhist culture, and to drive and promote the economic development and cultural heritage of Yaozhou District through the development of tourism. After completion, it will become a bright window for Yaozhou District to display its cultural heritage to the outside world.
