Prairie Sky Road | Two-Day Self-Driving Tour Guide

| Two-Day Self-Driving Tour Guide.
Essential tips‼️ Save this‼️

Remember! You must leave early in the morning!
Recommended weekend departure time: Leave Beijing at 8 AM on Saturday when there's less traffic. Drive the Sky Road in the OPPOSITE direction of most tourists for fewer people in your photos and cooler temperatures.

🌸 Check the weather forecast - a clear day on the prairie makes for stunning photos~

📸 The best time for amazing photos is just before sunset. Enter around 2 PM, and if there's no traffic, 4 hours should be enough for photos and exploration.

🚗 Route: Enter at Huapilin and exit at Yehuli. This route has minimal traffic and few people (this is the route I took). There's no traffic jam, and you can navigate directly to Huapilin. There are many rest stops along the Sky Road where you can park.

🔆 Near Yehuli, there's an observation deck that's perfect for watching the sunset. If you're lucky enough to catch some mist and fiery clouds, it's absolutely breathtaking.

🏕 Accommodation: You can stay in one of the ski resorts in Zhangbei. The hotels are very nice and affordable in summer~ There are also many homestays to choose from.

🥘 Dining: The barbecue and iron pot stews in Zhangbei are incredibly delicious. It seems that any prairie lamb is good, regardless of whether they actually raise sheep or not 🐑
As someone from Northeast China, I highly recommend "Dunxiangju" and "Tiantian Barbecue." If you can't handle too much salt, be sure to ask the restaurant to use less salt~ The flavors here have a northern Chinese characteristic and can be quite strong.

💖 Tips: Definitely bring a jacket, and preferably long-sleeved pajamas and long pants. You must bring long pants - it's really cold!!!
