Simple About — Tianmen Mountain

Tianmen Mountain (天门山) is a famous mountain in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, China. Its name means “Heaven’s Gate Mountain” because of its huge natural rock arch — a giant hole in the cliff that looks like a gateway to the sky.

The mountain is known for its dramatic cliffs, winding mountain roads (with 99 sharp bends!), and the world-famous Tianmen Cave, which is the big “gate” in the rock. Visitors ride one of the world’s longest cable cars to reach the top, then walk on thrilling glass skywalks along the cliffs, with breathtaking views all around.

Tianmen Mountain is also home to beautiful forests, ancient temples, and stunning viewpoints. It’s a place where nature, adventure, and spiritual history come together high above the clouds.
