Everyone knows that there is a high-speed train from Beijing directly to Taizi Cheng in Chongli. Chongli District, Zhangjiakou City, is the venue for the Winter Olympics snow events and is well worth a visit. The history of Taizi Cheng is also worth seeing!
We arrived the day before and drove from Zhangjiakou city center for over an hour, which is about the same time as taking the high-speed train from Beijing. The driving route is Wutong Avenue - Taizi Cheng Ruins - Taimu Town - Winter Olympic Village Snow Ruyi.
Wutong Avenue is a road that has been included in the route due to its beautiful scenery. If you don't go to Tianlu, you can also take a walk on Wutong Avenue!
Taizi Cheng Ruins is a museum that not only tells the history of Taizi Cheng, but also traces the entire Northern Silk Road and showcases the prosperity of Zhangjiakou, a major border town. There is also a Winter Olympics themed museum nearby that is worth visiting.
I have been to Taimu many times, so I didn't arrange it this time due to time constraints. Don't think that a ski town is just about ski slopes, there are beautiful landscapes here in spring, summer, autumn and winter. Other ski towns are also good, and when you enter Chongli, you will see buildings with pointed roofs, which may make you think you are in a European town.
Then go straight to Snow Ruyi. Snow Ruyi can be viewed from afar, or you can take the elevator to the top floor and enter the "big head" disc. The disc has three floors, all of which are open to the public. You can enjoy a panoramic view of the Winter Olympic Village, and there are often large sporting events and conferences held here. At noon, we drove back to the city, because although there were not many people in the tourist area, the restaurants were all crowded (maybe the restaurants I chose were more popular), so we had to go back to the city to eat. On the way, we passed Fulong Four Seasons Town, which is very beautiful. It is recommended to stop and take photos!
