Zhanjiang Techeng Island
The island is located in Zhanjiang Bay, Xiashan District, Zhanjiang City, about 2.8 nautical miles from the urban area, covering an area of approximately 3.6 square kilometers. "Techeng" originates from ancient Yue language, meaning auspicious and harmonious. The island features over 500 years of natural mangroves (listed as a national first-class protected forest), about 7.44 kilometers of coastline, and fine white sandy beaches, with beautiful scenery and excellent ecology.

Island boarding pier: You can take a taxi or drive from the city to Xiashan Fisherman’s Wharf (Dongti Road), then take a boat to the island on site.

Scenic area rating: National 3A-level tourist attraction.

Best time to visit: Suitable all year round; avoid noon hours, and be sure to use sun protection and stay hydrated.

Gear: The island is windy with strong sun exposure; it is recommended to bring sun-protective clothing, a sun hat, sunglasses, and water shoes; the mangrove boardwalk and tidal flats can be slippery, so watch your step.

Mangrove Wetland Park: Continuous lush mangroves with boardwalks extending into the sea; at low tide, you can explore the tidal flats and collect shells, ideal for both science education and sightseeing.

Bayin Bridge, Suibo Pavilion, Tingtao Pavilion: These connect the island’s scenic spots, each known for “listening to sounds, watching waves, and viewing sunrises,” perfect for photography and light hiking.

West Coast Viewing Platform: Overlooks Zhanjiang Port and passing giant ships; in the evening, you may see fish scale clouds and fiery clouds.

Xian Tai Temple: A historical and folk landmark on the island, embodying local beliefs and annual cultural traditions.

Island Greenway: About 10 kilometers of greenway connecting the ferry pier, century-old Xian Tai Temple, mangroves, shelter harbor, and hot spring resort, suitable for cycling or walking.
