A trip to Zhaoqing wouldn't be complete without visiting Wulong Pavilion, one of the city's iconic landmarks. This octagonal, double-eaved structure exudes an ancient charm, making you feel as if you've traveled back in time. As one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Seven Star Crags, it boasts unique allure and guarantees stunning photos from every angle.
Wulong Pavilion was first built during the Ming Dynasty, over 600 years ago. According to legend, the Zhaoqing area suffered from years of drought, leaving the locals in hardship. To pray for favorable weather, local officials constructed Wulong Pavilion in the Seven Star Crags area to honor the Five Dragon Gods of the Five Directions. Since then, it has become a sacred site for locals to pray for rain and blessings.
At the center of the pavilion, five intricately carved dragons seem ready to soar into the sky at any moment. The couplets on both sides express wishes for favorable weather and national prosperity. Standing inside the pavilion, you can feel the gentle breeze from all directions and enjoy the endless lake view, bringing a sense of relaxation and joy.
Address: Inside the Seven Star Crags Tourist Resort, Yingbin Avenue, Duanzhou District
Transportation: Take bus routes 3 or 13 and get off at Dongguanfang Station. It's super convenient as the pavilion is right there.
