Zhongshan is the only city in mainland China that Michael Jackson visited.

Day 1
🏨: EVEN Hotel Zhongshan Downtown
Great environment with nice swimming pool and gym,
Right next to MixC Mall and Holiday Plaza, but rooms are small.
Breakfast is abundant but they livestream sales during breakfast time,
Which is very inappropriate as customers get filmed.

Day 2:
🏨: Atour Hotel Zhongshan Fuhua Road Shiqi Pedestrian Street
This newly opened Atour has good environment,
Cheaper than EVEN with larger rooms and decent breakfast.
Close to Sunwen West Pedestrian Street and Xingzhong Square.
🚶Route: Zhongshan Museum - Xishan Temple - Yongmo Village in Sanxiang
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is still under renovation and closed.
Although Zhongshan Museum lacks heavyweight collections,
Its exhibition design and layout are excellent.
The Radio Museum is the only dedicated radio museum in China.
After visiting, drove to Yongmo Village in Sanxiang.
Zhongshan is the only city in mainland China that Michael Jackson visited.
There's a residence he once visited, but it's not open to public.
There's also a Konghou (Chinese harp) exhibition worth visiting.

Food
1. Pigeon Captain·Shiqi Pigeon·Crispy Meat Fish (Shiqi Branch)
Not far from hotel, about 15 minutes walk.
Their pigeon was the best during this Zhongshan trip (Pic 7),
Even better than Pigeon Yuxuan visited next day.
Glass-crispy skin bursts with juice when torn.
Got a 130-yuan duo set with pigeon and hotpot,
Added extra crispy meat fish belly -
Very crunchy but slightly muddy taste.
The raw pigeon for hotpot was average, a bit fishy.

2. CARLOS Restaurant
Portuguese cuisine near Country Garden Hotel in Sanxiang.
Friend insisted on visiting - not cost-effective, expensive but nice ambiance.
Afternoon tea set is relatively cheaper.

3. Xin He Tong
Old-school dessert shop, ordered bean tart and steamed egg.
Bean tart is like intense version of tofu pudding, steamed egg was okay.
Average overall, not worth special trip.

4. Pigeon Yuxuan·Herbal Pigeon Hotpot (Sanxiang Branch)
Skipped herbal pigeon, got chrysanthemum salad pigeon, salt-baked and braised.
Chrysanthemum version was refreshing with pickled garlic and taro strips,
Featuring salt-baked style pigeon inside.
Their salt-baked is actually fried version - very fragrant.
Braised lacked juice explosion of yesterday's but had richer flavor.

5. Fishing Port·Crispy Meat Fish Hotpot
Didn't follow online recommendations, found this downtown.
130-yuan set for five fish dishes - all good except mediocre fish balls.

Coffee enthusiast friend recommends first two near A Kam Kam:

7. Rongji Cake Shop·Coconut Layer Cake
Bought while getting coffee.
As fan of Cantonese tea cakes, found this place quite good.
