The Archway of Universal Love, located in the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum scenic area in Nanjing, was built between 1929 and 1931. It is a memorial archway made of granite . The two characters " Universal Love " on the four-bay, three-door archway are written by Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

The word "universal love" comes from Han Yu's "On the Origin of the Way" , which means " universal love is benevolence " . It can be said to be a high-level summary and the best portrayal of the gentleman's broad mind.
