Zhuhai isn't just about Chimelong – there's also the Starry Gravity-Free Park

Hengqin not only has Chimelong but also features the Starry Land Resort Town. Its biggest highlight is the Starry Tower Non-Powered Park, which, as the name suggests, offers eco-friendly children's play facilities at affordable prices. With distinct features differentiating it from Chimelong, many parents enjoy bringing their kids here or visiting as a side trip while at Chimelong.

For accommodation, Hilton Garden Inn is the top choice. Prices are quite reasonable except on Saturdays, and it's just steps away from Starry Tower Park with free shuttle service to Chimelong. The hotel environment is pleasant, meeting standard Garden Inn expectations, and it's newer than another nearby Garden Inn property. Packages including Starry Tower Park tickets offer even better value.

The hotel is housed in a butterfly-shaped standalone building. Though not tall, its open surroundings allow some rooms to overlook the park. The drop-off lobby and main lobby are spacious, architecturally surpassing many other Hilton Garden Inns.

This is also the only one of Zhuhai's three Garden Inns that doesn't force the breakfast/points dilemma at check-in. A simple request got me upgraded to a corner room of about 55 sqm – significantly more spacious than standard rooms.

The layout offers good privacy: wardrobe on the left upon entry, bathroom on the right, minibar straight ahead (no direct bed visibility). The curved floor-to-ceiling windows (due to the building's structure) would normally offer park views, but my second-floor room's vista was partially blocked by foliage.

Despite the generous space, some design flaws exist: a pseudo-desk too narrow for laptops, a bedside table only on one side of the bed, and an elevated platform too narrow for luggage – leaving only the entryway luggage rack truly functional. The space isn't optimally utilized, affecting comfort.

The minibar offers basic Binglu water and Lipton instant coffee – inferior to Hengqin Hilton Garden Inn's corner rooms which feature capsule coffee machines.

The spacious bathroom has just one sink but includes a comfortable Roca bathtub. Peter Thomas Roth amenities are provided, with decent shower pressure (no smart toilet).

Facilities include a self-service laundry with three machine sets and a standard gym with basic equipment meeting Hilton Garden Inn standards.

Overall a pleasant stay. At checkout when asked if I had children (apparently for gifts), I jokingly inquired about adult gifts too – and received a generous farewell surprise: card holders, luggage tags, and Starry Land lion fridge magnets!
