Dong'ao Island Welcomes Another Luxury Hotel

Take a ferry to Dong'ao Island, which has recently gained popularity with the successive openings of Marriott, Alila, and Anlu hotels...

There are three ports in Zhuhai city offering round-trip services to Dong'ao Island: Xiangzhou Port, Hengqin Port, and Jiuzhou Port. The ticket price from Xiangzhou Port is 100 RMB per person (half price for children under 14, same as train tickets), with a 50-minute journey. Hengqin Port is closer, taking 40 minutes at 80 RMB per person. All three ports have their own mini-programs for ticket purchases—just search the port name.

Upon disembarking at Dong'ao Island, hotel shuttle buses await at the pier entrance. They typically depart within 20 minutes of the ferry's arrival, so you won't have to wait long.

Anlu Dong'ao Island hasn't officially opened yet, but it's the first hotel I've seen that replaces shower gel with small jars of scrub (the amenity brand's Chinese name is Xunpu Ami, standard for Anlu—quite unique). Since the jars are single-use with peel-off lids, you can't take them home once opened...

The electric kettle maintains a constant temperature, perfect for brewing rock tea or Gongfu tea.

Anlu Dong'ao Island might signal a refresh and reinvention of the Anlu brand.
