My Trip to Dong'ao Island: A Perfect Escape from City Life! 🏝️

I recently went to Dong'ao Island, and I was so happy to get away from the city. The island feels completely isolated from the world, and the cool, fresh sea breeze was exactly what I needed to shake off the stress of work. As a big Marriott fan, I was excited to be one of the first to visit the newly opened Dong'ao Island Marriott Hotel with my family.

Getting There & Staying There

The journey was super easy. I took a ferry from Zhuhai's Hengqin Pier, and the ride was only about 40 minutes. The best part was that the hotel had an electric cart waiting for us at the pier, which made it so convenient to get to the hotel with all our luggage.

The Good & The Disappointing

The hotel itself was a comfortable place to stay. The electric carts they provide are a huge plus and make getting around the island very easy. We also found some great seafood restaurants near the pier where you can buy fresh seafood and have them cook it for you.

However, the most disappointing part of my trip was the hotel's beach. It looked a bit like a construction site, and I had no desire to use it at all.

My Final Recommendation

Overall, the accommodation was good, but the incomplete beach was a real letdown. If you aren't in a hurry to visit, I would recommend waiting a month or two for them to finish all the work. I'm sure the overall experience will be much better once the beach is fully ready!
