Zhuhai's New Hotel: A Rainy Day Encounter with the Most Beautiful Lingnan Mansion
On the eve of a typhoon, our family checked into the long-awaited MGM Reserve Zhuhai. Due to the weather, we weren't expecting much from our photos, but the moment the hotel doors opened, it felt like we'd stepped into a misty Cantonese garden mansion, its beauty undimmed by the rain.
We stayed in a family-friendly room, and everything from the bed to the bathroom sink was specially designed for children. Bathrobes, slippers, and children's toiletries were also provided. The Little Lions Club playground is incredibly thoughtful, with both outdoor and indoor areas. My daughter didn't want to leave even after closing time! ๐
The hotel's extensive gardens offer beautiful mountain and water views. Tea trees, waterside pavilions, pavilions, and arched bridges embody the architectural culture of Lingnan. Numerous Lingnan fruit treesโlychees, longans, and pineapplesโare planted along the way. The hotel meticulously presents guests with a rich and refined Lingnan experience.
For dinner, we went to Pinju Zhuhai for hot pot, offering views of cascading waterfalls and tea mountains. The next day, we had breakfast at Fangfei Garden, offering a mix of Chinese and Western cuisine. The food was amazingโespecially the seafood congee and Cantonese-style pulled intestines, made to order. The nostalgic Cantonese-style dim sum cart was truly unforgettable!
I never imagined the rain would make the hotel even more picturesque. The room was so quiet at night that I couldn't even hear the downpour outside. ๐ This truly is a secluded spot worthy of a relaxing three-day, two-night family getaway. ๐
