Off-peak family trip return! Complete record of a 3-day, 2-night parent-child trip to Chimelong Zhuhai

Just got back from Chimelong Zhuhai with the kids, sharing a fresh guide while it’s still hot! We flew direct from Chengdu Tianfu Airport, a 2-hour flight to Zhuhai.
🅿️ Found a private parking lot near Tianfu Airport, 30 RMB/day including shuttle service, very convenient!
🏨 Hotel choice
Chimelong Zhuhai has 4 hotels, we chose the Penguin Hotel. Although the facilities are a bit dated, it’s the closest to the Ocean Kingdom! When the kids got tired, we could go back to the room for a nap and then continue playing~ Plus, the kids loved the Penguin buffet!
Next time we plan to stay one night at the newly opened Spaceship Hotel, which has better facilities and an amazing indoor playground.

Bought a 3-day, 2-night package for 3XXX on Douyin, including:

Kids must buy tickets for the Chimelong show regardless of age. You can buy them at the front desk for 245 RMB/person or self-purchase on the “Chimelong Tourism” app.

If it’s your child’s birthday, contact customer service in advance to note it, and there will be simple decorations + a penguin cake (I actually forgot to claim it 😭)

4 PM arrive at Penguin Hotel ➠ check-in ➠ Chimelong show (sit by the aisle, NPCs interact!) ➠ Penguin buffet dinner ➠ 8 PM fireworks show ➠ back to room to rest

9 AM Penguin breakfast ➠ Ocean Kingdom ➠ park lunch (set meals 78-98 RMB each) ➠ 2-hour nap in room ➠ takeout dinner ➠ continue playing ➠ fireworks show ➠ back to room to rest

Penguin breakfast ➠ check out and store luggage ➠ free shuttle to Spaceship Park ➠ dad plays with kids, mom reserves seats early for 12 PM Orca show (doors open 11:30) ➠ lunch ➠ continue playing ➠ back to Penguin Hotel to get luggage and head to airport

💡 Practical tips
1️⃣ Definitely rent a stroller! 50 RMB/day. After the Chimelong show, there’s an auntie offering them right outside. Walking all day depends on it.
2️⃣ No flash photography inside the venues
3️⃣ Bring: sunscreen, water bottle, snacks, tissues and wet wipes, power bank, umbrella, jacket (it’s cold inside)
4️⃣ Luggage storage at Spaceship Park is 50 RMB/item, free at Penguin Hotel, recommend picking up at Penguin on the way back
5️⃣ Hidden activity: collect sparkle cards! We missed this because we didn’t plan ahead
🐋 Must-see recommendations
▪️ Whale Shark Pavilion: crowded during the day, better experience after 7 PM, very impressive!
▪️ Chimelong show: absolutely worth the ticket price
▪️ Penguin restaurant: kids love it
▪️ Orca show: reserve seats early!
Unfortunately, we didn’t make it to the Polar Bear Pavilion and Penguin Pavilion this time, but traveling with kids is like that—being flexible makes it easier~ Chimelong Zhuhai is definitely worth visiting again and again. After we got back, the kids kept saying they want to go again!
