Lingyan Mountain is located in Mudu, southwest of Suzhou, a water town in the Jiangnan region. It's named after the famous "Lingzhi Stone" in front of the Lingyan Pagoda. The mountain is home to numerous unique rocks. The jagged, jagged rocks and craggy formations create lifelike images, resulting in a vivid depiction. The ancient sayings of the "Twelve Strange Rocks" and "Eighteen Strange Rocks" were used to describe the area. Lingyan is known for its "unparalleled beauty in Jiangnan" and "surpassing the beauty of Tiantai Mountain."

Lingyan Mountain was the site of the Guanwa Palace, the former residence of King Fuchai of Wu during the Spring and Autumn Period, and also the place where the Kingdom of Yue presented Xi Shi as a tribute. Remaining relics and historical sites include the King of Wu's Well, the Dressing Table, the Flower Pond, the Moon Pond, the Xianglang Corridor, the Qintai, the Xishi Cave, the Zhiji Well, the Longevity Pavilion, and the Square Pavilion.
