#chinatrip Zhujiajiao Ancient Town is a beautiful place with gardens, narrow streets, bridges, boats and many shops. Line 17 brings you to Zhujiajiao Station, it's almost a 40 minute ride from Hongqiao Railway Station. When arriving with the metro, it's still a 30 minute walk to the entrance of the ancient town. There are maps and signs around the town to guide you there. You can also take a bus or even a boat.
First of all, I'd recommend to buy the package/combination ticket for 60RMB per person. You'll be able to visit Kezhi Garden, The Garden Of Inseparable Hearts, and Shanghai Helong Art Gallery.
It wasn't too crowded when I visited in the winter, but I can't imagine how busy these narrow streets can get in the spring or summer. There are so many places to get a drink or eat some food, so I also recommend staying at Zhujiajiao until it gets dark and the lights start to ignite. The sunset can also be very picturesque, so keep an eye on the time and the place you want to be to get these photos at the perfect time.
Yuanjin Temple is a great place to get a nice view of the ancient town of Zhujiajiao, because it allows you to go the first floor and walk around the balcony.
