Amsthaus III - A Striking Example of Civic Architecture

#hellohalloween

Amtshaus III is one of Zürich’s impressive historic administrative buildings, standing proudly along Limmatquai. Built in the early 20th century, it’s a striking example of classic civic architecture — solid, symmetrical, and beautifully detailed with stone carvings and tall arched windows that reflect Zürich’s formal yet elegant style.

Even if you’re just passing by, it’s worth stopping to admire the craftsmanship and the way it anchors this part of the old town. The building faces the river, surrounded by cafés and tram lines, making it a quiet but distinctive landmark in the daily rhythm of the city.

It’s not a necessarily tourist attraction, but for anyone who enjoys architecture or local history, Amtshaus III offers a glimpse into Zürich’s civic pride and timeless design. For us, this was certain one of those "hidden gem" types of places that is just really fascinating, beautiful and at the same time just not well-known and therefore comes without big crowds.
