The history of Wannian Temple dates back more than 1,600 years. As early as the Han Dynasty, the old man Dan Gong practiced here, and during the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Puxian Temple was built here, and later Ming Shenzong gave a plaque "Shengshou Wannian Temple", and the name was fixed.
The entire Wannian Temple is surrounded by lush trees, and you need to walk a bit steep to enter the temple, and you have a pilgrimage feeling step by step.
The whole temple is grand in scale and has a transcendent status in history, and you can also see the "First Mountain" stone monument in one corner of the temple.
There are several moss-covered stone lions at the entrance of the Buddhist temple, these stone lions are of different sizes, but they all have a lot of origin, the hollow carvings are the most breathtaking, each stone lion has its own historical story, but it is old, not every story is very clear.
Wannian Temple sits west and faces east, the main hall and wings are given into a courtyard, most of the buildings are wooden buildings, only the brick hall is a masonry dome, no matter from which angle it is very prominent, this is also the unique feature of Wannian Temple, it is said that the Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai visited Mount Emei when he visited this temple, and the monk Guangjun personally played the piano for him, and the two talents met, naturally cherishing each other.
A legend of Wannian Temple is related to the monk Guangjun.
Legend has it that Monk Guangjun always likes to play the piano behind the Pilu Hall after reciting scriptures every day, and at this moment, the surrounding, frogs and other animals have stopped chirping. One day, a girl in green leaned against the door to listen to the piano, saying that she had liked to play the piano since she was a child, and often followed the sound of the piano to listen quietly, and sometimes brought the piano to play and asked Guangjun for guidance.
After Guangjun's death, the girl disappeared without a trace, but every dusk, the monks in the temple could still hear the sound of the piano, and people walked to the listening table, only to find that it was a group of frogs chirping "Ding Ding Dang", the ups and downs were very pleasant, and very rhythmic, resembling the sound of the piano of Monk Guangjun, so someone named this group of frogs playing the qin frogs.
Legends can only be used as after-dinner conversations, not seriously, but they add fun to the journey.
The beamless brick hall of Wannian Temple has a unique shape, completely different from the temple of Han Buddhism, it looks a bit like a yurt from a distance, the bronze statue of Puxian in the hall is the largest existing ancient bronze Buddha statue in China, and it is also one of the largest existing ancient metal castings, the lotus platform is brass, the white elephant is bronze, the whole Buddha statue and mount are cast in many places, most of them are made locally in Emei Mountain, and some are made in Chengdu.
The Buddha statue is shining with golden light, representing the top level of Buddhist art, and the dome above the Buddha statue is beautifully painted.
It is definitely a big regret to visit Mount Emei without visiting Wannian Temple, and visiting Wannian Temple without visiting the Wuliang Hall.
There are not as many tourists in Wannian Temple as in the Golden Dome, but it is also full of tourists, and there are many peculiar landscapes in the mountains all the way from here. Inadvertently, you will also meet the monkeys in the mountains.
The hiking route condenses the essence of cultural tourism and natural scenery tourism in Mount Emei, and the process requires crossing mountains, walking through all levels of stairs and streams, and the green trees, birds and flowers along the way, It's not very pleasant.
Leaving Wannian Temple and continuing forward, the first thing you see is the White Dragon Cave.
White Dragon Cave, also known as White Dragon Temple, is about 800 meters above sea level, founded by Zen Master Bechuan during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, and it is said that the White Dragon Second Cave behind the temple is the place where the White Lady practiced immortality. Now the cave entrance is submerged and closed, but the clear spring is still there.
The White Dragon Temple was repeatedly abandoned and built, and in the early Qing Dynasty, Kangxi gave the monk Master Zu Yuan a copy of the "Diamond Sutra".
The current White Dragon Temple was rebuilt in 1909 and underwent two restorations in 1953 and 1980.
This is a small but magnificent Buddhist temple, with the Three Holy Temples in front and the Daxiong Treasure Hall in the back.
TheDaxiong Treasure Hall of Bailong Temple offers a Southern Song Dynasty iron "Bead Hand Guanyin", with a height of 1.6 meters, and the craftsmanship is very exquisite, which is one of the precious cultural relics of Mount Emei. Leaving the White Dragon Cave and walking a short distance to the Qingyin Pavilion Scenic Area, it is located under Niuxin Ridge, about 710 meters above sea level, the history can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty, the early Ming Dynasty was changed to Qingyin Pavilion, although there is only one hall, but it is condescending and surrounded by mountains and waters, the terrain is very dangerous, and there is also the "Double Bridge Qingyin" listed in the ten scenic spots of Emei Mountain.
The double bridge Qingyin is located in the center of the upper and lower mountains of Mount Emei, but there is a pavilion built on the boulders of the mountain stream, lined with two gurgling streams, and there are two arch bridges built on the stream, forming the momentum of the two bridges arching the pavilion, the forest next to the creek is lush, the environment is quiet, and there is a bit of mystery in the tranquility, as if it is a place where many stories happen.

Legends are naturally not taken seriously, but they add a lot of fun to the journey and remind us of many plots in "The Legend of the White Snake".
Walking all the way, passing by Yaowang Cave, you will find that there are many stone carvings here, and occasionally a few mischievous monkeys come to greet you.
The rain comes and goes, the trails and arch bridges are gradually wet, and the grass and trees become more and more verdant under the nourishment of the rain, if you don't see it with your own eyes, It's hard to imagine that the mid-mountain of Mount Emei in winter is still so green.
The air is fresh and refreshing, and the deep sound of the water hitting the stones is like playing a beautiful music.
Line after walk, inadvertently arrived at the first line of the sky.
At this moment, I looked up at the sky, but saw that there was only a small crack between the two mountains, and if it was sunny, the sun could only fall on the ground through this small crack.
Continuing on, the road is not difficult to walk, but the mountains and cliffs on both sides are very steep, like huge barriers towering in front of you, and some stone walls do not grow a blade of grass. Some stone walls are covered with moss, or ferns.
The light rain kept falling underground, and the valley was filled with clouds, and at this time, I finally understood the meaning of "only in this mountain, the clouds are deep and I don't know where it is".
The peaks are layered and cloudy, and the so-called "fairyland" is nothing more than that.
Continue further to the Mount Emei Natural Ecological Monkey Area, which is one of the most interactive areas.
According to statistics, there are a total of 15 relatively concentrated monkey communities, more than 500 of them, all of which are very spiritual, they will play on the flowing springs and waterfalls, will jump and play between rooftops, trees, hillsides, and will also go down the mountain to wait for tourists to give food, but will not harass tourists, but stand on the side of the road and wait quietly.
Some of these monkeys are waiting alone, some are dragging their families, and some are in a daze on the roof, it looks like a small society, and some lively scenes are no different from humans, which is so cute.
Originally, I wanted to continue to walk forward, but considering physical fitness and time issues, we crossed the ecological monkey area and walked three bridges to eat tofu pudding rice and returned the same way, passing through Qingyin Pinghu Lake to take a small loop, but seeing the mountains and rivers interdependent, the antique buildings are reflected on Pinghu Lake, beautiful and charming like a picture, unconsciously intoxicated, although the legs are already a little sore, but the beautiful scenery is currently completely forgetting the discomfort.
Golden Dome In order to enjoy the sunset and sunrise, we came to Leidongping a day in advance, although we couldn't see the sunset because of the weather, but we happened to encounter a heavy snowfall, and the next morning we hiked 1.5 kilometers to take the cable car to the Golden Peak, but we saw a white expanse along the way, and the strange rime wonder made us look forward to the Golden Peak trip.
After the snow, the golden dome of Mount Emei only has three main colors: white, gray and gold, and it is a blockbuster with a simple press of mobile phones and cameras, and the group is excited in the face of the beautiful scenery.
The altitude of the Golden Peak is 3079 meters, which has exceeded the highest altitude of the other three famous Buddhist mountains, although the air is a little thin at the moment, But the current excitement of the beautiful scenery makes all fatigue disappear in an instant.
The Golden Peak is located on the main peak of Mount Emei, adjacent to the Thousand Buddha Peak and the Ten Thousand Buddha Peak, which is the place with the highest concentration of attractions in Mount Emei, and it is also a good place to watch the sunrise, the sea of clouds, the Buddha's light, and the sacred lamp , each season and different weather conditions have different aesthetics.

The chief landmark of the golden dome is the world's tallest golden Buddha, and it is also the first artistic shape of the Ten Directions Puxian Statue - the Ten Directions Puxian Statue, this copper cast gilded craft Buddha statue is 48 meters high, with a total weight of 660 tons, consisting of a pedestal and a ten directions of the Buddha statue, whenever the glow shines on the top of the Buddha statue, countless auspicious lights are reflected from the golden Buddha, and the sea of clouds is inlaid with magnificent gold rims, and the visual effect is very shocking.
The sea of clouds in Phnom Penh is invisible due to the snowflake dance, the sunlight plays hide and seek with us, but the icon is covered with silver-white snowflakes, which is another rare spectacle.
The ten directions of the universal sage statue are divided into three layers, the ten heads have different demeanors, representing the 10 mentalities of the world, the first layer on the back of the elephant is the four-headed statue and the two-faced body of the universal sage, and the middle layer is the four-headed statue, The highest floor is the front and rear heads, and there is also a 484-square-meter temple at the base of the icon.
