Marine recreation is Shengsi's greatest joy. Fishing is one of the most distinctive local recreational activities. Other recreational activities are concentrated on the two major beaches of Jihu and Nanchangtu. These include yachting around the sea, bonfire parties, sea fishing, shellfishing and crabbing on the beach, seafood tasting, beach barbecues, sea fishing, sampan lessons, and water bikes (70 yuan per half hour, seats two).
Go out to sea with the fishermen, fish, and trap crabs, get close to the blue sea, and experience the hardships of fishermen's work at sea and the disappointment they feel when they get a good harvest.

Fishing activities are concentrated in Yujia Village, Wulong Township, Sijiao Island, Shengsi (located at the foot of Dabei Mountain). Chartering a fishing boat costs about 240 yuan. Sharing a boat costs 80 yuan per person.
Of course, there is a time for going out to sea to fish. Fishermen say it is usually around four in the morning or four in the afternoon. Of course, don't expect to catch many fish. Shengsi Marine Biology Museum displays a variety of marine life specimens in various shapes and sizes.
The Shengsi Islands Scenic Area is located in the heart of the nationally renowned Zhoushan fishing grounds, boasting abundant marine resources and over 180 species of fish. Fishing opportunities include yellow croaker and red sea bream in spring, grouper and tiger fish in summer, conger eels and mullet in autumn, and sea bass and hairtail in winter. The area has been designated a national sea fishing base.
