Outside the main gate stands a two-tiered stone platform, approximately 175 cm above the main thoroughfare. The largest and most complete ancestral hall is preserved, with a strong Nanyang style. It turns out that this family came from Nanyang, that is, they are early returnees, and they are rich after all.
This is in the Heshun Ancient Town of Tengchong. You need to buy a ticket to enter.
The building is very unique. I'm just strolling around, so I'll take a look when I get there.
The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is open to visitors free of charge.
The three Romanesque arches stand majestically in the winter sun, solemn and dignified, reflecting the inclusive attitude of Heshun Ancient Town as a hometown of overseas Chinese.
Outside the western-style gate, a majestic lion is roaring under the blue sky.
Looking at the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall, the architectural style is a fusion of Chinese and Western styles, and it is inclusive and broad yet complex and detailed, showing the temperament of an overseas Chinese hometown everywhere. It is truly a cultural treasure.
The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall inherits Chinese culture and is a worthwhile attraction, especially the free admission.
There are a great variety of plaques and couplets hanging in the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall. Among them, the most precious is the "White-haired Court Ceremony" plaque written by Deng Zilong, a famous Confucian general during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, in memory of "Master Qiaotou" Cun Yuti.
At present, the Cun Family Ancestral Hall has developed into the Cun Family Guangyuan Jade Shop, which is filled with various types of jade raw materials.
The painted beams and carved buildings that combine Chinese and Western styles are still there, but their appearance has changed.
A tourist attraction in Heshun Ancient Town, the architecture of the ancestral hall is very distinctive.
It is known as the most magnificent family ancestral hall in Heshun Ancient Town, and it has a fusion of Chinese and Western styles.
I don't know if this has any connection with Xinhua Village in Heqing, Dali. They have the same surname and both make silverware.
I have to admire the wisdom of our ancestors, especially the magnificent buildings
The doorplate of the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall tells us that the owner of this house once held a prominent position. However, with the passage of time, this place has become a commercial shopping attraction.
Most people in Heshun have the surname Cun, so the Cun clan ancestral hall is also the largest.
The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is located in the ancient town of Heshun in Tengchong, Yunnan. As I was walking around the town in the evening, I stumbled upon a rather large building. I initially thought it was a church, but upon closer inspection, the plaque on the building read "Cun Clan Ancestral Hall." It was quite impressive! Unfortunately, it was too late when I arrived, so I guess it was closed to the public.
It's a free attraction, and the interior is under renovation, but the building at the entrance of the ancestral hall is quite exquisite and worth a visit. I usually pass by.
A free tourist spot, the mansion has now been turned into a shop selling silverware, and there will be shopping guides outside to give explanations.
In Heshun Ancient City, you can see it by turning right after entering the gate and walking along the road. It is very grand, but you need a ticket.
The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall has a history of 2,000 years. Heshun is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese. Many ancestral halls were built by overseas Chinese who returned to their hometown after achieving success in their careers.

I have passed by the most famous Cun Clan Ancestral Hall in the ancient town countless times, but I didn't go in. It looks quite impressive.
The gate of the Ducun Clan Ancestral Hall is unique in its materials and design, embodying a quintessential South Asian style and a distinctly Western flair. It represents a classic fusion of Chinese and Western influences. Over the past 70 years, it has become a hallmark of the charming Heshun Overseas Chinese Community. Its exquisite carving techniques and enduring artistic value fully embody the exceptional talent and artistic creativity of the ancient Chinese working people.

The Cun family is also a big family among the Bai people in Dali, Yunnan. The Cun family ancestral hall in Heshun Ancient Town is particularly well preserved.
The Cun family is a big family in the ancient town. There is no entrance fee to the ancestral hall, which sells jade and tea. Others like the Liu family ancestral hall require entrance fees.
I wanted to visit it, but the inn owner told me that they were selling things there and they charged a lot of money.
It is the ancestral hall of the largest clan in the area, but they are selling things inside. I wonder what their ancestors thought.
The house is quite unique and it left a lasting impression on me.
I remember it was a two-story place selling jade.
Cun is a big family in Heshun. The ancestral hall is quite large.
Located on the right side of Dashi Lane, the gate is in Western style.
The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is the earliest ancestral hall. Its architectural style is obviously different from other traditional forms of flying eaves and brackets. It is full of foreign
If it were higher, it would resemble the Ruins of St. Paul's in Macau (forgive my lack of culture...). Actually, the open space in front of the ancestral hall is a very large platform, with a lotus pond nearby and a dam in the distance. The feng shui, location, and views are all excellent!
The solemn ancient ancestral hall and the tall gate railings clearly indicate that it belongs to a wealthy family.
It's much more spectacular than the Liu Clan Ancestral Hall! How can I describe it... Anyway, I must go!
The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is located west of Heshun Ancient Town, on the right side of Dashi Lane. It's about 300 meters to the right along the street from Fangchang Palace. Of the eight major ancestral halls in Heshun, the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall was the earliest to be built.
There are many ancestral halls in Heshun. The one belonging to the Cun family is located at the entrance of the village and is very beautifully built.
Located on the right side of Dashi Lane, the temple historically featured a main hall, wing towers, a garden, a guest hall, a main hall, a second gate, and a main gate. Outside the main gate stands a two-tiered stone platform, 175cm above the main thoroughfare. Flanked by stone pillars, each atop two stone buckets (erected by Cun Kaitai, a Jinshi in the Yiwei year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty). Beyond the main thoroughfare lies another, even larger platform, with a lotus pond in front, offering a breathtaking view of the scenery.
This ancestral hall is very grand, with three courtyards inside and outside, gradually rising, with side rooms on both sides. It is now used as a place to sell souvenirs or dry Chinese medicine.
In Heshun Town, a wealthy family can also buy jadeite, but of course it is very expensive;
Around 9:00 a.m. on February 26, 2015, we were visiting the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall in Heshun Ancient Town, Tengchong. The hall advertised the Cun clan as the local king of traditional Chinese medicine, and the pharmacy inside sold a variety of medicines. A couple from Chengdu and another woman came to buy dendrobium, saying someone in their family had diabetes and that it had been very effective. Since my parents also have diabetes, I decided to buy some too. The Chengdu couple bargained down the price from 48 yuan to 25 yuan per gram. The salesperson wouldn't weigh the medicine right away, saying they'd grind it into a powder first to minimize waste. We didn't know how much was in the small bag, but the salesperson said it wouldn't count, so we agreed to grind it into a powder. The Chengdu couple bought twice as much medicine as we did. The salesperson explained that there was only a grinder behind the counter, so they asked the woman with them to grind it into a powder in another room. We grinded it in front of them. When they weighed it, the Chengdu couple said they should deduct a few grams from the plastic bag, resulting in a total of 330 grams, for a total of 8,250 yuan. They paid in cash, while we paid by credit card. I knew I was cheated at the time, but because I was in a hurry to get back to work, I didn't file a complaint immediately. In this case, how do I file a complaint with the Industrial and Commercial Bureau?
I'm truly regretful. It's Chinese New Year, after all, and I'm heartbroken. Over 8,000 yuan isn't cheap for the working class, especially when you're being scammed out of filial piety. The reason I was scammed was that during my few days in Tengchong, I felt the locals were quite down-to-earth. After this incident, my impression of Tengchong was truly tarnished. I searched online and found many others who had experienced the same thing, all of them being scammed by a Chengdu couple. I never expected such blatant fraud to occur in such a famous scenic spot like the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall in Heshun. It's truly infuriating. I can only blame myself for not being vigilant and letting my filial piety get the better of me!
Please don't be deceived like us.
Heshun, the hometown of overseas Chinese, is a must-see in Tengchong! It's a place rich in culture and history. Due to time constraints and the sheer number of people, I only visited three of the eight major clan ancestral halls this time, taking in the main sights. But even without seeing everything, I still felt I gained a lot.
The Cun Family Ancestral Hall is a landmark building in Heshun Ancient Town and a symbol of the Cun clan in Tengchong.
The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall was first built in the 13th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty. The main gate was first constructed and then gradually improved. It now houses businesses and contains text and pictures that illustrate the development of the Cun Clan.
There is a lotus pond in front, which broadens the horizon and offers endless scenery. What makes it different from other ancestral halls is the gate, which is a fusion of Chinese and Western styles. It has three Romanesque arches, each with a nearly triangular top and a creative relief pattern.
Cun Clan Ancestral Hall, one of the Heshun attractions, does not require tickets.
Every year during the Qingming Festival, descendants living overseas will return to Heshun to participate in the Cun clan’s Qingming Festival.
The architecture of the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is very beautiful. The towering building bears witness to the prosperity of this family. It is a landmark building in Heshun Ancient Town.
The ancestral hall is beautifully designed and ingeniously crafted. The Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is now open to visitors for free. The gate of the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall is in the South Asian style.
It's completely free, but it's a pity that it has been commercialized! Some people keep promoting Maca as a medicine! What a pity!
There is nothing interesting in it, just take a look. After all, it is a ancestral hall in a remote area╮(╯▽╰)╭
Entering the ancestral hall, one sees plaque after another and doors after doors, as if 600 years of changes have been witnessed here. Every year, the Cun clan holds a grand sacrificial ceremony.
The stone lions at the entrance of the ancestral hall in Heshun Ancient Town are well built and very impressive.
It's free. Judging from the outside, it should be the largest clan ancestral hall in Heshun Ancient Town. It is very imposing. I guess the Cun family was the largest family in the area back then.
Entering the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall, a blend of Chinese and Western styles, one is greeted by a large courtyard. Plaques inscribed with names of famous figures under the eaves attest to the Cun Clan's former status.
The building is magnificent, the gate is a combination of Chinese and Western styles, the ancestral hall plaques and couplets are rich in connotation, and the family has produced many talented people.
The Cun clan ancestral hall is very magnificent. I heard that this is a prominent family in Tengchong. The Cun family has produced many talented people, including the anti-Japanese general Cun Xingqi, the jade king Cun Zunfu, and the Jinshi Cun Kaitai of Bian Guang.
It's a free attraction, but it's not open every day. They sell Chinese herbal medicines there. They have medicines for kidney deficiency, sperm quality problems, etc. It looks good.
The exterior is a great building, a blend of Chinese and Western styles. The interior has been transformed into a shop selling Chinese medicinal herbs, which is quite a departure. The plaques are quite well-made!
One of the big families in Heshun Ancient Town, there are people selling medicinal herbs, maca, Panax notoginseng, etc. The old friends have gone, the tourists are in a hurry, who is watching the years go by?
The Cun family is the largest in Heshun and has produced a Jade King. The outside of their ancestral hall is very imposing, but the inside is just average.
It's not far from where we live. Cun is one of the eight major surnames in Heshun. The ancestral hall was open this morning, and I wanted to go in, but I didn't know what the significance was, so I didn't dare go in. I just looked at it from the outside and took a few photos as a souvenir.
This is probably the largest ancestral hall in Heshun, facing the right side of the library.
It's blocked off, so you can't get in. Judging from the archway outside, it seems the Cun family was once a prominent figure.
Along the way, we also saw several beautiful main gates and accidentally discovered the ancestral halls of the Cun, Jia, and Zhang families. It seems that this place was also a very prosperous place in the past, with many famous and prestigious families. It is worth mentioning the Cun family ancestral hall. The area is relatively large compared to other places in Heshun, and the building is also very gorgeous. The ancient pillars at the entrance indicate that this family has produced Jinshi, which is considered a very famous family in Heshun, because the others seem to have only produced Juren.
Heshun Ancient Town boasts several prominent clans, and the Cun Clan Ancestral Hall, built by descendants of the Cun family, is rich in western Yunnan folk customs and overlooks a vast field of rapeseed flowers. It's no wonder that the people here also adhere to the principles of the I Ching, embracing the beauty of nature, with mountains at their backs and water at their beckoning.
There are eight major surnames in Heshun, but I can’t remember the specific ones. Surnames like Cun, Zhang, and Liu are all major surnames here, and they also have their own ancestral halls.
The exquisite gatehouse is very eye-catching. There is a simple family introduction inside, but the main function is to operate externally, selling jade, Chinese herbal medicine, etc. Free
Free attraction. This is the ancestral hall of the Cun family, one of the eight major surnames in Heshun. . . . . . . . . .
The architecture has Southeast Asian style. My ancestors all started businesses abroad, so the architecture in my hometown has some Southeast Asian style for generations.
The most prominent building in Heshunli, its gate is designed in Western style, while the inner shrine is in Chinese style, which is very unique. No entrance fee is required.
It is unique and should be considered as part of the tour in Heshun Ancient Town.
This is the most luxurious old house I saw when visiting Heshun Ancient Village. I can't believe how such a grand building could appear in this small village. Just like visiting the Heshun Library, you need a ticket to enter. I bought a combined ticket when I went there, which cost 90 yuan.
Li is one of the major surnames in Tengyue Ancient Town. The famous Cun's bean powder is the product of its descendants and is well-known throughout the country.
Located in Heshun Ancient Town, the overall architectural style is unique in the town, which makes people sigh at the long history and cultural heritage of this border town.
To be honest, apart from the appearance, I really can't tell the difference between this one and the others. But there are really a lot of people with the surname Cun in this town.
The gate looks quite imposing, it should be a wealthy family in the local area.
