Introducing Shangli Reservoir

Shangli Reservoir is located at 866 Longhushan Road, Siming District, Xiamen, Fujian Province, east of Wenzeng Road in the southern part of Xiamen Island. Surrounded on three sides by Yuping Mountain (Xiguling), Dongping Mountain, and Huangcuoling Mountain, it is adjacent to the Xiamen Botanical Garden. It is a key component of the Gulangyu-Wanshishan National Key Scenic Area.

Shangli Reservoir was built in 1924 and is one of the oldest reservoirs on Xiamen Island. The completion of the reservoir solved the problem of drinking water for Xiamen citizens at that time.

On April 12, 2019, it was selected into the "China Industrial Heritage Protection List (Second Batch)" hosted by the Publicity Department of the China Association for Science and Technology and co-organized by the China Association for Science and Technology Innovation Strategy Institute and the China Urban Planning Society.
