Introducing Xiamen Bridge Museum

The Bridge Museum is located in the anchorage on the east bank of the Haicang Bridge. It is a modern museum that integrates knowledge and participation, and focuses on displaying bridge knowledge, bridge technology, bridge culture and bridge history. It is also the first museum in China with bridge as its theme.

The museum consists of three main sections: the Haicang Bridge Construction Exhibition Hall, the China Bridge Centennial Retrospective Exhibition Hall, and the Haicang Bridge Monitoring Center. These exhibitions are spread across three floors. The first floor houses the Haicang Bridge Construction Exhibition Hall, showcasing the bridge's construction process from various perspectives, including design, construction, scientific research, investment and financing, supervision, and landscape design. The second floor houses the China Bridge Centennial Retrospective Exhibition, which systematically reviews the glorious achievements of ancient and contemporary bridge construction in my country, using history as a framework and bridge technology as a thread. It introduces bridge technology, representative bridges from different historical periods around the world, and grand bridge projects planned for the 21st century. Among the ancient Chinese bridges are the well-preserved Zhaozhou Bridge, the Song Dynasty Quanzhou Luoyang Bridge, the Qiantang River Bridge built in 1937, and the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. Contemporary bridges include the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, the Shantou Bay Bridge, and the Xilingxia Yangtze River Bridge. The Shantou Bay Bridge is a prestressed concrete suspension bridge.
