Introducing Piano Pier

Originally, there was no dedicated ferry terminal between Xiamen and Gulangyu Island; travel relied entirely on sampans and oars. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, with the development of society, the old terminal could no longer handle the growing passenger volume. Designer Lin Jinyi's vision at the time was to seamlessly integrate the terminal building with the sea, using a predominantly blue and white color scheme to blend seamlessly into the natural scenery, becoming the first attraction for visitors arriving on Gulangyu Island.

After the pier was built, Xiamen people said it was an "open grand piano" and the symbol of the Piano Island, which is in line with the designer's original intention: to make visitors feel the atmosphere of the "Island of Music" as soon as they set foot on Gulangyu.
