In 2006, Xikeng Village was jointly named one of Xiamen's ten most beautiful villages by the Xiamen Municipal Civilization Office, the Xiamen Municipal Tourism Bureau, the Xiamen Daily, and the Strait Life Newspaper. Most of the villagers still live in primitive stone houses, and their main source of income is tea cultivation and production. Due to its remote location (35 kilometers from the nearest Lianhua Town in Tong'an), although some tourists have visited by car in recent years, the village still retains its pristine ecology and simple folk customs.

Xikeng Village, with its layers of terraced fields and lush tea plantations, offers breathtaking scenery. A must-see when visiting Xikeng is the climb to the top of the hill behind the village for a panoramic view. The best photo ops are from the top of the hill and the downhill road just before entering the village, offering breathtaking views of the terraced fields, village, and mountains. Ancient dwellings built of red and green stone allow you to savor the village's rich history and culture.
