Introducing Bamboo Tree Hall

Zhushu Church, officially known as Xiamen Zhushu Christian Church, was founded in 1849 and officially opened for worship services the following year, marking its 160-year history. The current building was rebuilt in 1935 and named Zhushujiao Chapel after the original street name. The chapel grounds cover 2,751 square meters, with the sanctuary covering 391.5 square meters. Due to historical reasons, the church resumed services on December 20, 1981. Under the Lord's guidance and blessing, the church has continued to improve its ministries and prosper. The current pastor is Chen Meiman; pastors Wu Ruizhang and Lan Meihua; and three evangelists: Lu Kuan, Zhu Daiping, and Chen Jinzhan. The church has 31 elders and deacons, over 5,000 registered members, and maintains an internal publication, "The Vineyard."

Since 1859, Zhushu Hall has had three chapels. The first was built in 1859. In 1903, a fire in a nearby house damaged the church, destroying it. In December of the following year, American friends and believers donated 7,000 yuan to rebuild the second chapel. The current building, the third chapel, was renovated in 1935. It covers 2,751 square meters, with the chapel occupying 391.5 square meters. Experts describe Zhushu Hall's architectural style as close to Gothic. Its structure incorporates advanced Western structural materials, blending them with the architectural style of Southern Fujian. The roof structure avoids the pointed arch buttresses of traditional Western churches, employing wooden triangular trusses.
