Brahma Temple is located on the southern foot of Dalun Mountain in Tong'an District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It is one of the earliest Buddhist temples in Fujian Province. Together with Yongquan Temple on Gushan Mountain in Fuzhou, Guanghua Temple in Putian, Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou, and Nanshan Temple in Zhangzhou, it is a famous temple along the coast of Fujian.

During the Xianheng reign of the Tang Dynasty, the temple reached its peak, boasting 72 large and small nunneries. In the 13th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1380 AD), the resident monk Wuwei rebuilt it into a complete Buddhist temple. The main buildings, including the mountain gate, Vajra Hall, Heavenly King Hall, Main Hall, and Sutra Library, are clustered along a central axis, creating a magnificent structure. Miaoshi Temple in Xiamen and Riguang Temple on Gulangyu Island are both branches of the temple. Behind the temple, the Wengong Academy, a Ming Dynasty building commemorating Zhu Xi, along with the Yangzhi Pavilion, Shizhan Pavilion, Thousand Buddha Pavilion, and Kuixing Pavilion, are located amidst lush forests and bamboo groves, creating an elegant and tranquil environment.
