Dongping Mountain Hiking Trail
The 5,000-meter Dongping Mountain Hiking Trail connects Dongping Mountain, Wucun Mountain, Banwei Mountain, Dacuo Mountain, Longshe Mountain, and Wuweita Mountain, forming a circular network of loops, with a large loop within a middle loop, and a middle loop within a small loop. Heading south along the trail, you'll pass by lush trees, jagged rocks, and even the beautiful bougainvillea, Xiamen's city flower.
Dongping Mountain Observation Deck
Along the Dongping Mountain hiking trail, there are two viewing platforms: Turtle Rock Viewing Platform and Diaobao Viewing Platform (located at the "One Mountain, Two Gates" point). The former features a solitary rock perched atop the mountain, resembling an old turtle basking in the sun. The latter offers a bird's-eye view northward, offering panoramic views of Xiamen Island, while southward, one can gaze out over the Big and Small Kinmen Gates and Dadan Island.
Strange Slope of Dongping Mountain
The "Strange Slope" is located on the road from Wenzeng Road to Banling Palace. The "Strange Slope" is about 50 meters long and 10 meters wide. As the saying goes, "water flows to the lowest place", but here you can feel the feeling of the car automatically going uphill after the engine is turned off. This wonderful visual difference has attracted many curious people to drive or ride a bicycle here to try it out.
