With the changes in the city, the water area of ​​the Dailiao Reservoir near Fangzhong Road has not only been shrinking, but due to the lack of sewage interception, more and more sewage from surrounding villages has poured into the reservoir, causing the water quality in the reservoir to deteriorate seriously.

To this end, in early 2014, the Xiamen government began beautifying the Dailiao Reservoir. New drainage tanks were built, and sewage interception has been completed. In the future, raw water from the Jiulong River will be introduced to revitalize the water. Through the planting of various tree species and flowers, the landscape will be transformed into a 130,000-square-meter ecological park. The lake water is still relatively clean, and a boardwalk has been built along the lake for strolls. On clear days, the lake shimmers, flowers bloom, and the lush greenery surrounds it, creating a truly exquisite spectacle.
