
The Gutian Conference Site, formerly the Liao Clan Ancestral Hall, also known as the Wanyuan Ancestral Hall, is located at the foot of Bijia Mountain in Caimeiling, Gutian Town, Shanghang County, Longyan City, Fujian Province. Built in 1848, the single-story, hip-and-gabled courtyard-style ancestral hall features a brick-and-wood structure. The hall consists of front and back halls and left and right side rooms, covering an area of 826 square meters. It was later converted into the site of Hesheng Primary School.
The entire scenic area includes the Gutian Conference Site; Songyin Hall, the former site of the CCP's Fourth Red Army Front Committee and Political Department; Xiechengdian, the writing site of "A Single Spark Can Start a Prairie Fire"; Wenchang Pavilion, the site of the First Fujian Provincial Congress of the CCP; Shuhuai Hall, the former site of the CCP's Fujian Special Committee; and Zhongxing Hall, the former headquarters of the Fourth Red Army. The Gutian Conference Memorial Hall also houses the site. Most of the historic sites are located near the memorial hall, and visitors can enter for free after obtaining a ticket at the visitor center.
Upon entering the scenic area, you'll see the inscription "The Gutian Conference Will Shine Forever." Below is the Gutian Conference Site. Everything inside the site is preserved as it was, perfectly preserving its original appearance. You can see artifacts used by revolutionary pioneers in their work and daily lives. A short walk along the trail and up the steps leads to the Gutian Conference Memorial Hall, where you'll find numerous artifacts and historical materials from the Agrarian Revolution. It's like stepping back into those turbulent times.
