The Huaihai Campaign Martyrs Memorial Tower Garden is located approximately 3 kilometers east of Yunlong Lake in Xuzhou. Visitors can pay tribute to the martyrs and learn about the history of the Huaihai Campaign. The main buildings in the garden include the Huaihai Campaign Martyrs Memorial Tower and three memorial halls: the New Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall, the Xuzhou National Defense Education Hall (Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall), and the Old Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall. While the memorial halls within the gardens are closed on Mondays, the gardens are open on Mondays, allowing visitors to visit the gardens, though the memorial halls are not.
The garden has three main gates: South Gate, East Gate, and North Gate. To visit the memorial hall, you can obtain free admission tickets at the various gates with your ID card or other valid identification. You will need to go through security at the entrance, and lighters and other items are not allowed inside.
Entering from the south gate and heading east, you'll find the new Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall. Inside, you'll learn about the Huaihai Campaign, with related artifacts displayed under each story. Don't miss the 360-degree panoramic gallery at the center, surrounded by incredibly realistic war scenes. Entering from the south gate and heading west, you'll find the National Defense Education Hall (Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall). Aircraft and artillery are parked at the entrance, and inside, you'll learn about the development of weaponry, the deeds of the Xuzhou people in their fight against the Japanese, and the history of the Battle of Xuzhou.
Heading north from the new building of the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall, you will find the old building of the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall. It was built in 1965 and is covered with glazed tiles. It is now closed to the public and can only be viewed from the outside.
The warm temperate humid climate makes it suitable for travel in all seasons and for remembering history.
Heading northwest from the east gate and heading west, you'll reach the Huaihai Campaign Martyrs Memorial Tower, a 38.15-meter-tall tower with the names of martyrs inscribed at its base. Other attractions within the park include the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Forest. Because the entire park resembles a large park, with abundant greenery, local elderly people often stroll through it in the evenings.
